General Conference Information
In April of each year, MPSA holds one of the largest political science conferences in the United States. This year, more than 4,000 presenters from the United States and countries throughout the world presented more than 3,300 papers.
Traditionally, the MPSA Annual National Conference is held at the historic Palmer House Hotel in Chicago. The next five conferences will be held in Chicago on the following dates:
- April 2-5, 2009, 67th National Conference
- April 22-25, 2010, 68th National Conference
- March 31-April 3, 2011, 69th National Conference
- April 12-15, 2012, 70th National Conference
- April 11-14, 2013, 71st National Conference
Conference presentations are organized by topic in approximately 64 sections; each section is managed by a section head, who selects papers and assigns them to session formats ( panel, poster, or roundtable). Section heads comprise the Conference Program Committee, which is overseen by the Program Committee Chair(s).
Each year, MPSA provides a limited number of scholarships for conference registration, travel, and childcare assistance on a first-come basis to eligible individuals. For more information, click here.
