Conference Updates

Conference Proposal Notifications - We are beginning to send acceptance notifications from the MPSA 2018 program committee via email. Additional notifications will be sent to submitters and co-authors through December. Please watch your email for an update on your conference proposals. You may also check your proposal status by logging in to the website and clicking the CHECK PROPOSAL STATUS button which will appear on the left sidebar.

Call for Panelists: MPSA Professional Development Roundtables -  MPSA seeks to organize a series of roundtable sessions for the 76th annual conference on topics including public engagement, career development, publishing, teaching, and research methods. Learn more about the opportunity and volunteer your expertise as a panelist.

Volunteer to Serve as a Discussant or Chair - We want to be sure that a discussant is available to provide feedback on all of the research presented at the upcoming MPSA conference. Please consider volunteering your expertise to demonstrate your support of your colleagues in the discipline. Log in to the MPSA website to volunteer via the conference proposal system. Assignment notifications will be sent in November.

MPSA Adopts Anti-Harassment and Professional Conduct Policy – On April 16, 2017, MPSA adopted an Anti-Harassment and Professional Conduct Policy modeled closely on the American Political Science Association Anti-Harassment Policy which outlines expectations for all who attend and participate in MPSA events and meetings. Read the policy here. 

Call for Applications: 2018 Wikipedia Fellows Pilot -  Wikipedia has partnered with three academic associations (including MPSA) to identify its Wikipedia Fellows pilot cohort. From early January through early April 2018, participants will learn how to contribute to Wikipedia and, by the end, make a substantial improvement to at least two articles on a subject important to the Future of Facts. Call for Applicants: Nancy Weiss Malkiel Scholars Award - The Malkiel Scholars Award offers a $17,500 stipend—$10,000 to be used for summer research support and $7,500 for research assistance during the academic year. Read more for information about eligibility and applicationrequirements. Deadline: December 1, 2017.
