On February 9, 2017, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit has maintained suspension of the Executive Order that severely limited entry into the United States for citizens of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. While this ruling means that individuals from these seven countries may continue to enter the United States, MPSA maintains its support of affected scholars, including allowing presenters who are citizens of one of the seven countries referenced to present virtually, waiving or refunding conference fees for these scholars, organizing a set of Late Breaking Sessions exploring the impact of this type of Executive Order, and hosting a reception to welcome scholars who travel from outside the United States to attend the conference. More information on hotel reservations:  http://mpsanet.org/Annual-Conference/Conference-Hotels When you reserve your room today, you can adjust your reservation later to match your personal conference schedule, if needed. Call for Proposals: Late Breaking Sessions -  (Deadline Extended)  There are often significant and unexpected political events that occur well after the proposal deadline, including Supreme Court decisions, strife in different parts of the world, elections, and in the academic world. To be able to include these topics at the upcoming conference, MPSA currently seeks proposals for Lake Breaking Sessions. These sessions will be organized as roundtable discussions, so no formal paper is required. For full consideration, please submit your offer/proposal by March 8, 2017.  Learn more.

Host a Dine Around at the MPSA Conference - Hosts propose a dinner discussion topic, coordinate details including if/when the group should meet to travel together to the restaurant, confirming reservations, and managing the group’s payment of the check. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and for paying for their own meal, drinks and tip, if applicable. Follow this link to express interest in hosting.
