Fulbright Scholar Awards

The seven MPSA members listed below are among 800 U.S. faculty and professionals that received Fulbright Scholar Awards for the 2007-2008 academic year to travel abroad. Grantees lecture and conduct research in a variety of academic and professional fields.

Graeme Philip Auton, University of Redlands, is  lecturing on “The Application of Arms Control and Confidence-building Measures to the Korean Peninsula” at Kyung Hee University, Namyangju, Gyonggi, Korea.

Bonnie Norine Field, Bentley College, will conduct research on “Political Party Discipline in Democratic Spain, 1977-1989” at Juan March Institute of Studies and Investigations, Madrid, Spain.

Jennifer L. Fitzgerald, University of Colorado--Boulder, will conduct research on “Local Context and the Politics of Immigration in France” at the Center for Study and Research on Local Life, Bordeaux, France.

Henry E. Hale, George Washington University, is conducting research on “Russia's Rubicon? The 2007-08 Election Cycle and Theories of Hybrid Regimes” at Russian State University for the Humanities, Moscow, Russia.

Erik Sean Herron, University of Kansas, Lawrence, is lecturing and conducting research on “Elections and Democracy after Communism” at Ivan Franko L'viv University, L'viv, Ukraine.

Ronald John  Hrebenar, University of Utah, is lecturing on “Interest Group Politics, Lobbying and Advocacy in Eastern and Central Europe” at the University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria.

Mark Carlton Miller, Clark University, will lecturing on “Law and Politics in the United States” at the University of Leiden, Leiden, Netherlands.

Political Science Blog

Jeff Yates, University of Georgia, announces a new political science blog, "Voir Dire." The blog will cover a variety of topics including law, courts, policy, academia, and, occasionally, pop culture. While the blog will not be focused on state politics per se, it will often include topics that are highly relevant to state politics and policy.
