Acknowledgment of Personal Responsibility

Upon registering for the conference, all individuals must agree to take necessary precautions while attending the 81st Annual Conference of the Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) including, but not limited to, engaging in appropriate social distancing, and adhering to any masking rules in public areas when not consuming food or beverage that might be required by the hotel or City of Chicago at the time of the Conference. Registrants must agree to not attend the Conference or related events if they feel ill or had recent exposure (within five days of the Conference) to COVID-19. If an attendee contracts COVID-19 within 14 days of the Conference, they must agree to report this to mpsacovidtracing@mpsanet.org.

Registrants acknowledge that travel to and participation in events may increase the risk of exposure to communicable diseases or other unforeseen dangers. Registrants are required to agree to a liability waiver which releases, waives, and forever discharges any and all liability, claims, and demands of whatever nature against the MPSA and its affiliated partners and sponsors, including in each case, without limitation, their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents (the “Released Parties”), either in law or in equity, to the fullest extent permissible by law, including but not limited to damages or losses caused by the negligence, fault, or conduct of any kind on the part of the Released Parties, including but not limited to, death, bodily injury, illness, economic loss or out of pocket expenses, or loss or damage to property, which they, their heirs, assignees, next of kin, and/or legally appointed or designate representatives, may have or which may have hereinafter accrue on the registrants behalf, which arise or may hereafter arise from my participation with the MPSA Conference.
