MPSA Department Chairs' Caucus

The MPSA Department Chairs’ Caucus aims to foster a professional community for current and future university department chairs. The goal of the caucus is to create a network for sharing best practices and pooling resources, particularly in the areas of departmental management and promoting political science in a time of declining enrollments across the discipline.

The Department Chairs’ Caucus hosts workshops and roundtables at the MPSA Annual Conference and throughout the year on such topics as:

• Recruitment and Retention
• Supporting Faculty Members and Addressing Burnout
• Creating and Sustaining Diverse Departments
• Transitioning from Faculty to Department Chair
• Enhancing Enrollment through Curricular Change
• Building Partnerships with Other Departments

We invite all current and incoming department chairs (including chairs of combined departments and political science program coordinators) to join the caucus today by completing this short form.

Members will receive access to the Department Chairs’ Resource Repository and be included in all Caucus communications regarding upcoming events, opportunities, and initiatives.
