Supporting the National Science Foundation (NSF)
The National Science Foundation (NSF) funds 24% of all federally-supported basic research at U.S. colleges and universities. The Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences (SBE) Directorate within NSF funds 55% of the university-based social and behavioral science research in the nation. Yet, SBE accounts for less than 4$ of the entire NSF budget. More information can be found at: http://www.nsf.gov/about/budget/fy2016/index.jsp
MPSA supports the National Science Foundation (NSF) because NSF and SEB discoveries improve people’s lives by:
- Helping us thwart cybercrime and protect Americans’ privacy and security.*
- Improving public health.
- Helping us understand how to respond to disasters.
- Improving the effectiveness of the criminal justice system.
